Va Va Velo!
While this blog chronicles my experiences as a female cyclist exploring the scene, it’s not just for women or beginners or bike snobs. It’s a place to celebrate bikes, biking and bicyclists. The name combines the french word Velo, which means bicycle, with the expression “va va voom,” which conveys liveliness and excitement. For me, this name captures the thrill of riding a bike.
I do not claim to be an expert, and nothing in this blog should be taken as expert advice. I do, however, wish to chronicle my training and racing adventures, share resources, discuss products and hopefully engage in a dialogue with other cyclists.
No matter how serious you are or what kind of ride you sport, I hope you enjoy it.

I have a lust for words and am fortunate to support myself … and my ever-growing bike racing habits … with it. This blog is where I merge my passions for writing and cycling.
I’m a freelance writer and editor, as well as an aspiring author. I’m rarely without music. I adore bacon, dark chocolate and belly laughs. Sports movies make me cry. My hero is Liz Lemon on “30 Rock.”
